Can we get to 250?

We are building a larger membership so The Shell stays open, hosted, and ours. We also want to invest more into our space, including upgrades to our aging equipment, and adding handicap accessibility. Our ask: $100 a year. You are not charged unless 250 people commit.

Why this exists

The Shell is a space in New Hampshire for liberty-minded people. It exists as a real community center that is not a restaurant and not someone’s house. It runs on memberships, not government grants. In addition to serving its members, it has a mission to spread this culture of liberty to the greater community.

A $50/month membership is a serious ask for someone who is curious but not yet all-in. $100/year is an easy “yes” that still keeps the lights on if enough people say it. Also, making this change to our organization is a much needed step to take us from “Libertarian Clubhouse” to “Libertarian Institution.”

We want to be around for the long run like the Moose, Elks, Knights of Columbus.

1. It is a campaign

Your card is saved. Nobody is billed the annual amount until we hit 250 and the board starts conversion.

2. Current members are not being shaken down

The people already paying $50/month stay on that plan during the drive. They already count toward 250.

3. If we miss 250, you pay nothing extra

Pledges expire unused. Monthly billing for existing members continues as it does today.

What membership is for

  • A real room fully outfitted for your liberty activities
  • Member events, hangs, and the people who show up
  • A space that stays independent because members fund it

This is not a hypothetical club. Members have already put on:

  • Comedy shows with Robbie Bernstein and Lou Perez
  • Oxford-style debates
  • Liberty Valentines trivia
  • Open mic nights
  • Retro arcade pop-ups
  • Halloween parties
  • Ammo reloading classes
  • Themed movie nights
  • Super Bowl parties
  • Bitcoin classes
  • Karaoke

And so much more.

Will I be charged today?

No. Today we only save the card. The $100 annual charge happens only after 250 pledges and an admin starts conversion.

I already pay $50/month. Should I use this form?

You are already counted. You can ignore this page. Your monthly billing does not change unless you later choose to switch.

What if we never reach 250?

Then the annual charge never runs. That is the deal.
